It's the last round of the heats, and there is just one remaining place in the quarter final for one of our two remaining designers. They're taking on the monumental task of redesigning an iconic farmhouse kitchen each. Still with a budget of £1000, a small team to help them and just three days, the designers must complete their projects to a high standard and impress their clients and the judges alike. Things are not going to be easy. One designer faces a battle over painting the dated wooden units, and while decorative elements like the woodland print wallpaper goes down well, the judges have grave concerns over the practical side of the design. Meanwhile the other designer showcases their ingenuity with kitchen utensil light fitting, bespoke hooks and quirky accessories. However, while they've been busy with these inventive ideas, have they neglected the overall look of the French Farmhouse brief? Presenter and architectural historian Tom Dyckhoff looks back at the history of these Farmhouses, while the judges must make the huge decision about which designer shows the skill and talent to become a quarter finalist, and who will leave the competition.
